Cardiffs Rainbow Casino is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week all the year round, including bank holidays.

There is currently no official dress code at the Rainbow Casino although its website advises guests to dress smartly and casually. The lack of a formal dress code reflects the casino’s more relaxed policy.

Although its sister casinos in Aberdeen and Bristol organise poker tournaments, no poker tournaments are currently available at the Rainbow Casino in Cardiff.

There is a restaurant at Cardiff’s Rainbow Casino. It offers a wide range of starters, main courses and side dishes at reasonable prices. The menu includes chargrilled dishes, steaks, curries, fish, burgers and pasta. There is also a separate dessert menu with all dishes under £5. Depending on the day customers visit the casino, its restaurant has a number of promotions. On Tuesday steaks are on special offer (£10); Wednesday is ‘pie and a pint’ (£9.95); Thursday is ‘Curry Night’ (£6.95) and Fridays has reductions on fish and chips. For casino guests who prefer something less formal than a sit-down meal, snacks are also available at the bar located in the casino. A variety of sandwiches, wraps and pizzas are on offer 24 hours a day. The breakfast menu consists of a traditional fry-up, rolls or omelettes. Their small plates menu includes nachos, spring rolls, chicken, prawns and meatballs in bite-sized portions. The hot snacks are more substantial and include burgers, steaks, chicken and jacket potatoes served with a variety of toppings. If guests fancy something sweet, they can choose between the dessert menu of ice cream, cookies or muffins. These menus are only served during kitchen hours.

There is no hotel affiliated with Cardiff’s Rainbow Casino. However, its central location on Mary Ann Street in the centre of the city means that there is a range of hotels within a 1-mile radius of the casino. These include the Park Inn, Citrus Hotel, the Ibis Cardiff and the Radisson Blu Hotel.

Situated in Cardiff’s Motorpoint area, there are plenty of places of entertainment within easy walking distance of the Rainbow Casino. The Gwdihw cafe bar is located in Guildford Crescent and is open every day except Thursdays. Visitors can enjoy relaxing in its beer garden and in the evenings, it becomes a live music venue. Located in St Mary’s Street, Dirty Martini serves a variety of martinis and cocktails and also has a Happy Hour. It is open every day with a late bar until midnight on Thursdays to Saturdays. For people who like clubbing, the Retro nightclub in Mill Lane is less than half a mile from the Rainbow Casino Cardiff. This party hotspot is the ideal destination for people who are nostalgic for music of the 90s. Open from Wednesday to Saturday, it organises a number of drink promotions as well as theme nights. Just over a mile away, the Pryzm nightclub is open every Friday, Saturday and Monday. This huge club is divided into 7 different themed rooms ranging from New York to Tahiti. Entry before 11.30pm only costs £1. The Smoke Haus is an American-style restaurant situated in Mary Ann Street. Open every day from noon to 9.30/10pm, the restaurant serves a variety of burgers, corn and hot dogs as well as barbecued food with distinctive sauces such as bourbon glaze. The portions are generous and customers can add additional toppings to suit their tastes. The Potted Pig and (craft) Gin lounge is located underground in a former bank vault in Cardiff’s High Street. It is a British restaurant and presents a menu of old favourites like cockles, pigeon and pork but all with a modern twist. Open every day (but Sunday lunch-times only), the owners pride themselves on their seasonal menu with Welsh products.
